SKANR — Terms of Use & Liability Disclaimer

SKANR provides informational, auxiliary, and analytical data based on information received from a third-party OBD2 Bluetooth adapter.

The Application:

• is not a professional diagnostic system,
• is not certified as a diagnostic tool,
• does not replace an official, instrumental, or physical vehicle inspection,
• is not intended for making decisions that impact vehicle safety or roadworthiness.

All results, assessments, risk levels, recommendations, repair cost estimates, and other information are approximate and must be verified by a qualified automotive professional.

Using SKANR on iOS requires a Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) OBD2 adapter.

The user understands and accepts that:

• the adapter is a third-party device,
• SKANR developers do not guarantee its functionality or compatibility,
• any damage arising from the use of such an adapter is the user’s sole responsibility,
• SKANR does not control the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of data transmitted by the adapter.

SKANR is not responsible for any damage that may occur to a vehicle when using a third-party OBD2 device.

The developers, owners, and partners of SKANR assume no liability for any type of damage, including but not limited to:

The user employs the Application entirely at their own risk.

The Application does not guarantee:

• accuracy of error code decoding,
• correctness of risk assessments,
• accuracy of estimated repair costs,
• compatibility with all car makes, models, and years,
• compatibility with all OBD2 adapters,
• ability to read all modules or ECUs,
• correctness of recommendations or explanations.

All information may be incomplete, approximate, conditional, or incorrect due to technical or hardware limitations.

By using SKANR, you consent to the following:

SKANR may store all scan reports, including:

• diagnostic trouble codes,
• decoded explanations,
• adapter-provided data,
• VIN information,
• selected car make/model/year,
• selected country and language.

SKANR may also store all technical logs, including:

• connection errors,
• adapter communication failures,
• Bluetooth logs,
• internal diagnostic events during the scanning process.

These data may be used — in anonymized or aggregated form — for:

• improving service quality,
• analytics and performance statistics,
• identifying technical issues,
• improving AI algorithms and diagnostic models.

We reserve the right to store, analyze, and use these data without time limitation, in accordance with applicable laws.

You acknowledge and agree that:

• data may be stored indefinitely,
• data may be used for development, machine learning, and service improvement,
• data may be processed by third-party technical partners.

By using the Application, the user fully and unconditionally releases the developers, owners, representatives, and partners of SKANR from any claims, legal actions, demands, or liability related to the use or inability to use the Application.

The user agrees that:

• any disputes shall be resolved individually,
• class actions, collective claims, group lawsuits, or representative actions are strictly prohibited,
• the user waives the right to participate as a plaintiff or member in any collective proceeding.

The Application must not be used for:

• commercial vehicle diagnostics,
• official inspections or roadworthiness checks,
• insurance assessments,
• vehicle valuation,
• dealership services,
• professional repair work,
• legal or forensic automotive conclusions.

All disputes shall be governed by the laws of the country where the Application owner is registered. For the purposes of these Terms, this jurisdiction is Cyprus, and any disputes shall be handled exclusively by the courts of Cyprus.

The user waives any claims under other jurisdictions.

By continuing to use SKANR, the user confirms that:

• they have read this document in full,
• they fully understand its content,
• they agree to all terms and conditions,
• they accept all risks,
• they release the developers from any liability.
